The George Washington University Humanities Center is an interdisciplinary organization connecting humanities researchers within GW and promoting their work to the larger community. The Humanities Center supports the full range of human thought and creativity, empowering students and faculty alike to consider the human experience through a variety of lenses and to share understanding across disciplinary boundaries. The Center aims to cultivate the use of humanistic methods to face the challenges and to embrace the opportunities of the 21st-century cultural community we share.
The Center includes a broad representation of disciplines, cultures, and time periods across the humanities, and addresses a singular theme each academic year.
The theme for 2021-2022 is “Truth and Lies.” A collaborative group of researchers is exploring various aspects of this theme, including a range of contemporary dimensions and historical perspectives. Read more about the participants and their projects.
